House Baseball

House League Mission

The mission of the Lake Bluff Baseball Program is to teach the integrity of the game of baseball.  The programs of the Lake Bluff Baseball Association focus on developing and improving our players’ baseball skills but even more importantly, developing good sportsmanship and building character for all participants.  We believe the life-lessons learned on the baseball field are critical tools for the development and growth of our children.

Player growth is centered on teaching baseball fundamentals and strategies, learning and playing a variety of fielding positions, and promoting a lifelong love for the game.  The House League programs emphasize overall player growth.  Our goal is to provide each player with the coaching and instruction necessary to properly catch, throw, field, hit, and pitch. Our success is measured in the development of these skills over the course of the season.

The House League is a time for our children to learn, grow, and have fun.  As a volunteer-based community organization, we want to provide opportunity for all to get involved: players, parents, coaches, and umpires.  We welcome your support, and treasure our community ties.

2024 House League

We are excited for the 2024 Season, which marks the 69th year of LBYBA! Our rich tradition of baseball made possible through the support and involvement of our community will be sure to make for a great season!

For early bird rates, Mustang/Bronco register before February 14, 2024 and Pinto/Softball/Tee-ball by March 13, 2024 . If you have registered your player in prior years, data will auto-populate to the prior year’s information. Please be sure to check that all information (grade, address, etc., is current).

What league/level of play is right for my child?

We encourage players to participate at their grade level:

●     T-Ball: Current Pre K, K

●     Pinto: Current 1st & 2nd Graders

●     Mustang: Current 3rd & 4th Graders

●     Bronco: Current 5th & 6th Graders

If your player is in Kindergarten and you would like him/her to be considered to play in the Pinto league (1st/2nd Grades), please register your player for Pinto. The Pinto Commissioner will contact you for a discussion regarding your player's experience and may request an evaluation.

If your player is in 2nd grade and you would like him/her to be considered to play in the Mustang league (3rd/4th Grades), please register your player for Mustang. All 2nd graders who are registered for Mustang will be required to be evaluated. 1st graders are not permitted to play in the Mustang league.

The decision to allow a player to play "up" is made by the LBYBA board following discussion and evaluation. Safety, skills, and the number of players registered in the leagues will factor into the decision.

Player Evaluations

Player evaluations are mandatory for ALL Mustang and Bronco players (even travel) and are used to create balanced teams. They will be held on Sunday, March 3 at the Lake Forest High School Field House in Lake Forest High School (East Campus - 1275 N. McKinley Rd. Lake Forest).

Bronco - 2:30-4:30pm

Please make every effort to attend on this date.  Unless there is a large simultaneous wave, evaluations will take approximately 20 min. per player. Please come within the indicated timeframe for your player's level.  If you have players in both levels, they may come together. If you cannot make the time for your player's level, come anytime between 1PM-4:30 PM.
