Please note: For those interested in playing
travel baseball, you must pay your $150 per player initial
fee before February 14th to avoid the $20 late registration
fee. Ages
9-12 must play in our House League to participate in our
Travel League
North Shore Travel league games begin
in early June and end with a season ending tournament in
late July.
14 year olds
The 14 year-old teams for 2010 will be
LBYBA teams. This is different from 2009, when the 14 year
old teams were combined with LFBA. LFBA has chosen to
participate in a new summer league and therefore will not be
in the North Shore League. The A team will participate in
Mike's Memorial in the spring and in the North Shore League
in the summer. The B team will play in the Spring Fever
League in the spring (Vernon Hills based league) and the
North Shore League in the summer.
13 year olds
House league will be optional for the
13 year olds. The 13A team will play in Mike’s Memorial and
the North Shore Leagues. The 13B team will play in Spring
Fever and North Shore Leagues. All boys interested should
register online. Late registration will be available during
tryouts.
9-12 year olds
We have planned for paid coaches at
several age levels. Final details are still being worked
out and will be communicated after the teams are formed.
These age groups play in the North Shore League and may also
be entered in 1 tournaments. There will be two teams: A and
B if the numbers allow. For the 9 year old team, children
who are in 2nd grade are allowed to tryout.
All boys interested should register online. Late
registration will be available during tryouts.
North Shore Rules - Tryouts
Alll players can only tryout for one
North Shore Baseball League team regardless if the player
makes the team or not. For example, if a child tries out
for a Lake Forest team and doesn’t make it, he/she is not
eligible to tryout in Lake Bluff (and vice versa).
North Shore Age Limit Rules
Players play their age as of May 1st.
Please note, LBBA strongly encourages
children, if eligible, to play with their classmates versus
playing up/down a grade. For example, a 4th grader that
doesn’t turn 10 until May 2nd is technically eligible to
play with the 9 year old team, even though most 4th graders
will play on the 10 year old team. It is expected most will
want to play at their grade level, but it is the family’s
decision if they want to play their child up/down a grade.
Estimated Travel Team Fees:
9 & 10 & 11 year olds $400 (parent
coaches)
12 year olds $650 Paid coaches
13 year olds $725 Paid coaches
14 year olds TBD
