Baseball; I have played travel baseball for 4 years and also had the opportunity to play in Cooperstown, NY with a North Shore team in 2005. I also played on the freshman baseball team at LFHS. The positions I play are catcher, 3rd base, and outfield. Custom workouts can include: fielding footwork and developing a quick release when throwing for infielders and outfielders, overall catching technique for catchers, along with tee-work, soft-toss and hitting in the cage will round out the lessons. Hitting on the field is also an option. Other skills that will be covered include the mental approach to hitting and opposite field hitting if age and ability seem appropriate.  Having umpired for Lake Bluff baseball, I can also instruct on umpiring techniques if your son sees a future behind the plate or on the bases in LB or LF.

Basketball; I have played organized basketball since the 1st grade. In addition, I’ve been fortunate enough to have played travel basketball for 3 years, participated in camps both locally and at UW Madison, and recently finished playing for the LFHS freshman & sophomore team the past two winters. I have played every position in basketball with most of my playing time being at the guard position.  Custom workouts can include: Correct practice methods for shooting, drills to enhance quickness, defensive techniques, proper form for both right and left handed lay-ups, and ball handling. Other skills that can be covered are post moves that every player can use, boxing out and developing a routine for shooting free throws.

Football; I have played local football for 5 years through programs such as St. Mary’s Football, as well as Lake Forest Travel League and Lake Forest High School Football. This past fall, I was a member of the LFHS Sophomore team. My main position is quarterback, but I also play defensive back and have played wide receiver. For future Scout QB’s I will breakdown the running game, and proper passing mechanics which include drops, boot, waggle, sprint, roll-out and shotgun techniques. For running back, receiver and defensive back positions appropriate drills will be worked on based on skill level and position.

Thank you for your consideration. I hope to earn your trust and I am looking forward to working with your son in the coming years.  Finally, please feel free to pass this flyer along to other families as you feel appropriate.

Sincerely,

   PJ Carollo
